Russian language courses in Spring/Summer

Spring comes to St. Petersburg at the very end of March (even though the calendar spring starts at the beginning), and can be one of the best times of year for visiting Saint Petersburg for sightseeing and culture immersion, before the tourist rush of the summer. The city wakes up fast after the long winter dream and everyone seems to be in celebratory mood.

Easter happening every year in April/May (dates are different every year) is the most important holiday in Orthodox Calendar. Even though it not an official public holiday, the rituals involved in its celebrating are very beautiful and bright – coloring eggs and preparing traditional Easter food such as Kulich (easter cake) or Pasha (dessert made of cottage cheese). Families come together to celebrate Easter and visit local churches.

White Nights season begins in mid May, when the city is also full of flowers and blooming trees and its peak is during mid-June when the sun never fully sets and you can enjoy your long warm evenings sitting in one of the cozy terraces overlooking the infamous Nevsky Prospekt, the main street of the city. One of the must-do things during the White Nights is to see the bridges open. Long warm days change into the magical white nights full of light and wonderful atmosphere and there are plenty of activities to do and places to visit both in and around the city. Tourists and locals enjoy watching this magical show either from the river embankments or from the water – on a small boat cruises sailing into the heart of the midnight city.
