Russian for young learners
Russian lessons for children and teenagers
A careful Russian programme for younger students who need structure, confidence and a teacher who can keep lessons active.
We adapt the format to age, level, dates and parental expectations. Lessons can be arranged in Saint Petersburg or online, with clear communication before the first class.
How we teach
Age-appropriate lessons, not adult material made smaller
Active learning
Speaking from the first lesson
Short tasks, role-play, pictures and guided dialogue keep lessons active and practical.
Clear structure
Grammar in usable pieces
New structures are connected to real topics: family, school, travel, hobbies and city life.
Personal pace
Private or small groups
The teacher can slow down, repeat or add challenge quickly, which matters for younger learners.
For parents
Practical details first
Age, supervision, dates, accommodation and communication are confirmed before booking.
Junior programme depth
A junior programme needs careful planning
A good junior course is not only a lesson timetable. Parents need clear information about supervision, accommodation, activities and realistic planning before they confirm travel.
For parents
Supervision is planned first
Age, daily route, emergency contacts, accommodation and activity boundaries are clarified with parents before the course is confirmed.
Residential option
Homestay can support immersion
A host family stay, meals and a supervised activity rhythm can be arranged when dates, age and availability make it realistic.
After lessons
Activities can reinforce Russian
Museum visits, city practice and excursions are selected for age, season and language level, not added as random sightseeing.
| Area | What we confirm |
|---|---|
| Lesson plan | Private, sibling-pair or small-group lessons; 20 lessons per week can be arranged for a fuller junior programme. |
| Accommodation | Host family, full-board or apartment options are discussed case by case. Exact promises are made only after availability is checked. |
| Activities | Supervised city practice, museums or excursions can be added when appropriate for the student age and season. |
| Parent communication | Parent contact details, emergency contact, arrival route and practical rules are checked before the course starts. |
Tell us the learner’s age and goals
We will suggest a realistic format before you arrange travel or commit to dates.
Residential junior route
Lessons, homestay and activities can be planned as one programme
For younger learners, the important details are not only the Russian lessons. Age, daily route, supervision, meals, accommodation and after-class activities all need to be clear before a parent confirms travel.
Age and format
Usually children and teenagers
Junior arrangements are confirmed case by case. The fuller residential route is usually planned around school-age learners, with age, independence and parent expectations checked before booking.
Lesson rhythm
20 lessons can form the weekly base
A fuller junior week can include 20 Russian lessons, usually Monday to Friday, with the exact private or small-group format confirmed after we know the learner age and level.
Daily route
Supervision is not improvised
If lessons, homestay and activities are combined, the route between host family, school and activities is planned with the parent or guardian before arrival.
Accommodation
Host family and meals by request
A host family stay with full-board or other meal arrangements can support immersion when dates, age and family availability make it realistic.
A sample junior week may include morning lessons, lunch, supervised city practice or excursions in the afternoon, and return to the host family for dinner and homework. The final timetable depends on season, tickets, learner age and course length.
Classic museums
Hermitage and Russian Museum
Museum visits can be used as language practice when the student has enough support and the day is not overloaded.
City landmarks
St Isaac, Peter and Paul, boat routes
Central walks, churches, fortress routes and seasonal boat trips help connect classroom vocabulary with real places.
Suburban trips
Peterhof, Pushkin and Catherine Palace
Longer programmes can include full-day weekend excursions when the course length, tickets and supervision plan allow it.
Teen activities
Parks, theatre or waterpark options
Divo Ostrov, Piterland, ballet or theatre can be considered when age, season and parent preferences make them appropriate.
