St. Petersburg Christmas fairs
Where can one buy Christmas gifts from the young St. Petersburg designers and artists, try cherry mulled wine and make Christmas decorations with one’s own hands? We brought together seven non-trivial St. Petersburg Christmas fairs with street food, hot drinks, workshops, and ice skating.
The St. Petersburg Christmas Fair
St. Petersburg’s main Christmas fair traditionally opens at Pionerskaya square, near the Youth Theatre. From 12:00 to 23:00 there will be workshops with souvenirs, hot meals and mulled wine along with the urban ice rink. On the New Year’s night the fair will host festivities and will work until 3:00 a.m.

Christmas Bazaar in New Holland
On December 17, in front of the “Bottle” building on the New Holland Island, a Christmas Bazaar with holiday gifts and street food was opened. The “Workshops of Ded Moroz”, where everyone can make Christmas decorations with their own hands, operate on-site. Also children’s matinees are held there every morning and December 31 the island will be presenting “the Nutcracker” ballet.

Intelligent Flea Market
Intelligent flea market, which usually takes place in St. Petersburg several times a year, will also open in the new year’s weekend. The fair will be held in the “Lumiere Hall”, a former gas tank on the Obvodny canal embankment. This St. Petersburg Christmas fair offers a great opportunity to buy designer jewelry, postcards, notebooks, handmade accessories, hats, warm socks and hand crafted marmalade. Admission is free.

Elagin Island Fair
A lovely St. Petersburg Christmas mini-market, where one can buy gifts, handmade Christmas decorations and delicious gingerbread, is operating in the Central Park at the Elagin Island. The multiple stalls with hot drinks adjoin the large ice skating ring that offers free ride for all visitors.

“Art Christmas Tree”
The “Art Christmas Tree” is a fair where you can visit workshops and buy new year souvenirs and toys created by art students of St. Petersburg. A forge, a furnace station for glass blowing and a potter’s wheel will be operating onsite. Also a designer market will be held in the Big concert hall of the St. Petersburg University of Industrial Technology and Design. The entrance ticket costs 50 rubles. Participation in the workshops costs from 100 to 700 rubles.

Spicy Market in the “Tkachi” space
Probably. one of the most unusual St. Petersburg Christmas fairs is a fair that is dedicated to the mulled wine. It will be held January 5 in the “Tkachi” space. Visitors will be able to try different types of the mulled wine, enjoy traditional Czech trdelnik (twisted bun) and other sweets, buy Christmas gifts, attend workshops and hang in hammocks while doing the air-yoga. Entrance cost is 150 rubles. The ticket includes a glass of non-alcoholic mulled wine.

Christmas fair in in the “Taiga” space
The Taiga space will host a festive fair with clothing, accessories and jewelry from the young St. Petersburg designers. The event will be accompanied by homemade cakes, mulled wine, music by guest DJs some sweet treats that can be bought and brought home for the Christmas table. Admission is free.
