Cyrillic looks like a wall until someone sorts the letters into three piles for you. Then it takes days, not months. Here are the piles.<\/p>\n

Pile 1: letters you already know<\/h2>\n

\u0410, \u041e, \u041c, \u041a, \u0422, \u0415 sound roughly like they look. So does \u0417 if you squint (it is \"z\"). That is a fifth of the alphabet before you have done anything.<\/p>\n

Try it: \u041a\u041e\u0422 is \"kot\" - a cat. \u041c\u0410\u041c\u0410 is exactly what you think it is.<\/p>\n
